NBA News: Jeremy Lin Injured Again with Lower Back Tightness

Brooklyn Nets starting point guard Jeremy Lin can’t seem to catch a break as just a game following his return from a strained left hamstring, which caused him to miss 17 games, he found himself back on the inactive list, suffering from tightness in his lower back. After playing against the Houston Rockets Monday, Lin was out of the Nets’ 107-97 win against the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday. According to Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson, Lin’s back tightened up Wednesday morning and was ruled out shortly before the game. Isaiah Whitehead started in his place.

In his first game back since Nov. 2, Jeremy Lin played 20 minutes off the bench. He scored 10 points and dished out seven assists to go along with his three rebounds in the Brooklyn Nets’ 122-118 loss to the Rockets. Lin has played in just six games all season after being acquired by the Nets in the offseason. He has been solid in his limited time on the court, averaging 14.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists when healthy. Lin will be reevaluated for Friday’s game against the Orlando Magic. He will have two days to recuperate from this latest physical setback if he wants to be back in the lineup as soon as possible.

While playing without their lead point guard Jeremy Lin yet again, the Brooklyn Nets made easy work of the struggling Los Angeles Lakers, riding a strong second quarter to hand the Lakers their eighth straight loss. Three players scored at least 20 points for the Nets. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 23 points, Sean Kilpatrick had a solid all around game with 22 points, four rebounds and five assists, while Brook Lopez added 20 points. It was the fourth straight 20-point game for Bogdanovic, who has been having a strong year for the Nets so far.
