LG V5 is rumored to grace the market in 2017 as a mid-range smartphone along with the G-series flagship, the LG G6. Rumor has it that the former will sport a removable back panel with a fingerprint scanner as well as a 5.3-in. Screen. The new handset is also believed to be thinner than other models.
Moreover, leaked speculation coming from OnLeaks reportedly revealed the product renders of the upcoming phone. Photos of the LG V5 were also allegedly spotted online. Apparently, the mid-range phone may sport a design that relates to premium phones which is found at the curved back as mentioned previously.
However, note that the name LG V5 is believed to be changed in the future. In addition, the LG V5 may also sport a plastic housing and a microUSB port instead of the USB-C. The 5.3-in. screen has been noted to sport 1,280x720 resolution. It remains to be unclear which OS the LG V5 may adopt but if true, the LG V5 may run on either an Android 7.0 Nougat or an Android 6.0 Marshmallow, according to report.
The price of the LG V5 is yet to be revealed as well. However, it is also speculated that the LG V5 may provide a cheaper option in the market than the LG V10 or the LG V20. Note that the company is also rumored to be working on a follow-up to the LG V20 which may be called LG V30.
Meanwhile, when rumors first started on the LG V5, the handset was reportedly called other names. Apparently, it was either an LG LV1 or an LG LV5. Apparently, LG has yet made a decision on what to call their next mid-range phone.
LG V5 has been noted to have cryptic origins. Hence, it is believed that this makes it difficult to predict price and positioning of the handset.
