"Teen Wolf" is currently in its final season and Season 6 is reportedly not doing well with a bang because of Dylan O'Brien's absence. Ever since Dylan O'Brien's (Stiles Stilinski) unfortunate accident during the filming of "Maze Runner: The Death Cure", he has not been filming with other series and movies in order to recuperate.
Now, when Dylan O'Brien is back all healthy, he begins filming the last installment of the movie series, "Maze Runner: The Death Cure." This has been a hurdle for the "Teen Wolf" season 6 cast, because, despite the best efforts of the writers, ratings without Dylan O'Brien have been sinking.
Collectively, "Teen Wolf" season 6 is averaging with just a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and about 470,000 viewers in both live and same day viewing figures. This is a decline of over 50 per cent in each measure from the entirety of season 5. It is a shocking drop, especially for something this far along its run.
There are a number of theories as to why this is so. One of the biggest speculation might be because "Teen Wolf" season 6 aired in the late fall for the very first time. If you look at it, the first part of season 5 aired in summer while the other came during winter. These are the usual months that younger viewers are out of schools. On the other hand, airing during November can be quite disadvantageous because students are either studying for year-end exams or focused on the holidays.
Another rumor would be the absence of Dylan O'Brien. It is known that he has started filming "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" and that he would be concentrating on that for it to release on time. However, Dylan should be coming back at some point in "Teen Wolf" season 6 so fans won't need to worry about missing Stiles.
