‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Updates: 100 New Monsters, Game Tweaks Headline December Improvements From Niantic

Niantic has rolled out a lot of improvements to “Pokemon Go” for December, most of which are tasked to make the game better. The new features are already in place such as tweaks that can be made to avatars and the improvements to the built-in tracking of the AR game.

The changes can only be felt for “Pokemon Go” players who frequently activate the app and check out the changes. Aside from the in-game features, there are of course the addition of 100 new pocket monsters that should keep players busy.

Thanks to the efforts of data miners, 100 next-gen Pokemon have been discovered in the scripts. Sound files of these new "Pokemon Go" critters were discovered, hinting that new spawns are out there somewhere, Neurogadget reported.

But would that include the Legendaries and Rares that most “Pokemon Go” players have been debating and awaiting for? Such is a question that remains.

Regardless, there are new pocket monsters to look forward to on “Pokemon Go”. The list includes Magby, Elekid, Smoochum, Pichu, Togepi, Igglybuff and Cleffa, Kotaku reported. There is also the Santa-capped Pikachu which has started to spawn all over, something likely to be limited this holiday season.

These are Pokemon outside the 150 monsters expected to spawn, though the bad news is that folks will need to do plenty of walking to see them in "Pokemon Go". They are stocked up on 10 KM eggs which most know to take a long time to hatch.

Mixed reactions on the tactic have been sounded off by “Pokemon Go” players. One includes the chances of getting them via long walks with no idea what the 10 KM egg contains. Hence, that means that with only 7 new ones, there is a possibility that gamers may get something already available on “Pokemon Go”.

Regardless, some “Pokemon Go” players laud Niantic for their efforts. It remains a free game and the enhancements (good or bad) are pretty much welcome.
