Apple Pay is undeniably one of the leading contactless payment option in the market today. Countless of banks and store retailers are supporting the iOS based payment facility. Samsung is also one of the major competitors of Apple and it brings no surprise to anyone if Apple will reject Samsung Pay in the iOS App Store.
Samsung Pay is also a contactless payment option but it said that it is more superior to the Apple Pay because it supports older payment terminals without NFC. It is also the only mobile that supports Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology. Apple is known to be exclusive to its own software and services, so it is not a surprise that it will reject its competitor.
After Apple has rejected Samsung Pay Mini into its iOS App Store, the Korean company has no more plans to appeal its inclusion. A Samsung spokesperson said that their company will now focus on bringing Samsung Pay to smartphones where Apple Pay is not present.
Apple Pay allows user to pay for products when they go on virtual shopping, while Samsung Pay Mini will also allow users to pay online for their shopping, not just in retail stores. There was a time when third party browsers and email clients are not allowed in iOS devices. This time, Apple has not allowed its rival Samsung Pay to invade its App Store. Reports said that the Cupertino Company has not offered any explanation for its rejection.
Samsung Pay is already accessible in Brazil, Puerto Rico, South Korea and Thailand. Apple Pay is not yet served by Apple Pay. Samsung Pay Mini will launch in January next year.
