Another batch of much-coveted Nintendo Entertainment System or NES Classic hits ThinkGeek and the story of demand outpacing available units repeats itself. Players have long admitted that NES Classic is very hard to obtain although Nintendo promised to produce more after it caused mayhem.
Blame it on Nintendo for making limited quantity of NES Classic and the world is in disarray. In fact, it came to a point where retailers selling NES Classic for 5 times the original price. Nintendo fans can check that previous GameNGuide story about shameless profit-oriented maneuvers.
Now here is another dilemma; ThinkGeek receives its fresh allotment of NES Classic and players know they have them. While orders are pouring in, the retailer was forced to device a system to make everything fair. ThinkGeek said in their official page that there will be heartbroken players who will never get a chance to have their way in this particular batch.
So while ThinkGeek have fewer NES Classic units than that of current demand, the solution is to pick by raffle who gets to buy one. ThinkGeek opens the door to NES Classic starting today, December 13th and until supply lasts. Of course, it is a safe assumption that those NES Classic wouldn't last for even a day anyway.
Here is how to participate: players need to register for a ThinkGeek account then include NES Classic in their wishlist. The system will then randomly pick lucky winners who gets a code which in turn serves as passport to NES Classic checkout. Remember that this code is valid for 24 hours only and automatically expires the next day.
So, are you ready to aim for that NES Classic and keep your fingers crossed that you get picked? Hit those buttons as quickly as you can and who knows if this is your lucky day. Just a quick reminder though, NES Classic was supposed to sell at $60 apiece so anything more than that is a clear rape of retail price.
