Early adopters of the Xbox One found a pretty empty marketplace when they brought home their new consoles. For gamers used to tons of demos from Microsoft the lack of nearly any was upsetting, especially as gamers tried to see which title to spend their hard-earned cash on. But as promised three days ago by Micrsoft's Major Nelson, more demos are on the way. The latest is available right now, a demo for launch title Dead Rising 3.
There's a nice chunk of the sandbox game available in the demo. Besides thousands of zombies to fight off there's some weapon blueprints to find, a couple of different combos to try out and even one of the coveted Super Weapon cards, the Ultimate Grim Reaper. Just wait till you see what this monster looks like...
But for anyone who already owns Dead Rising 3, you'll soon have something to download too. They just announced the first DLC pack, entitled Operation Broken Eagle. This will offer up a new playable character to control - four of them, in fact.
"With all four of the Untold Stories of Los Perdidos experiences, you get to see the story of Dead Rising 3 unravel from a different point of view," Josh Bridge of Capcom Vancouver told Major Nelson. "You get to take on the role of a different character in each of the four and play through their story and how it ties into the overall plot and reveals how the outbreak unfolded in parallel to Nick Ramos attempting to escape. Each of the episodes have new weapons and a custom vehicle along with side missions and other goodies to collect and ace achievements with. The team had some fun with getting some pretty crazy weapons in there!"
Being that these are military grunts they have a whole aresenal of weapons that main character Nick can't get, including an armored military truck that can fire bullets. Since these are harder men than Nick was expect them to take on some much more ethically questionable missions.
There will be more DLC in the way after this but it's nice to see them going after a larger pack right off the bat. This seems like a sizeable one too, so hopefully it will satiate anyone who's already made their way through the game- although, there's always Nightmare mode to attempt.
