Good news for all those of you who were invited into the closed beta for Diablo 3's first expansion, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. As revealed by Blizzard, the closed beta for Reaper of Souls is now finally live and that invited fans can start playing it.
The company has also revealed that anyone who was previously playing in the "Friends and Family" beta will now automatically have access to the closed beta, while the current Diablo 3 players can copy their existing characters to the beta once every 72 hours.
“Invitations to this next phase of our public test are now being delivered to nephalem worldwide. If you've been invited to the Closed Beta, we'd love to hear all about your adventures on the forums, watch your live streams, and see screenshots and videos of your experiences in Sanctuary,” the official post for the same states.
“Please keep in mind that Reaper of Souls is still in development, which means that all content in the Closed Beta is subject to change and isn't necessarily representative of the final game.”
Since this is the first expansion pack to Diablo 3, Reaper of Souls will arrive with a new class, new passive abilities alongside a fourth slot for the same, new weapons and armor, a level of 70 and brand new enemies to fight against.
In order to sign up for the beta, fans will need to head over to their respective profiles on Battle.net, select the Beta Profile Settings page and finally tick the box marked “Diablo”.
From there onwards, Blizzard Entertainment will decide via a draw whether the fan is eligible for an access to the beta. Also, players will be able to use their pre-existing characters for the same and can share as much information about their experiences along the way as they want since there’s no non-disclosure agreement to worry about.
However, if you are expecting everything to go as swimmingly as you want it to be with the new closed beta, you could be in for a major dissapointement as Blizzard notes via a note in the beta FAQ: “As this is a test server, please anticipate uneven game performance, and note that restarts and downtime may occur without warning.”
"We'll provide information regarding extended downtimes, should they occur, in the Reaper of Souls General Feedback forum," it further adds.
Though the expansion for the game will be releasing separately for PC and Mac, it will arrive alongside the original game on the PS4 with the upcoming Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition.
