To commemorate Cristiano Ronaldo winning his fourth Ballon d'Or this year, Nike will release a limited edition football boot named Mercurial Superfly CR7 Vitòrias, which is Portuguese for victories.
The Mercurial Superfly CR7 Vitórias comes with metallic golden plate on the soles and a silver finish. The boot's stylish appearance is officially described as such from Nike:
The "Vitórias" boot upper and its signature speed ribs feature a stylish Pure Platinum upper with a subtle blue metallic shine and an elegant fade from heel to toe. The Metallic Gold plate is a nod to the gold trophies Ronaldo won this year and the heel graphic reads "Vitórias," Portuguese for victories. The CR7 logo and Swoosh are further highlighted by an iridescent shimmer.
The release of Mercurial Superfly CR7 Vitórias also celebrates Cristiano Ronaldo's accomplishments earlier this year, such as Real Madrid having won Champions League and Portugal winning the Euro 2016 championship.
Nike will produce only 777 pairs of this limited edition boot and it's expected to be released by early 2017 on selected retailers only. Each pair of Mercurial Superfly CR7 Vitórias is individually numbered. Cristiano Ronaldo might be wearing the limited edition boot on his next game with Real Madrid.
Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly earns $17.8M annually from his lifetime sponsorship deal with Nike. The Real Madrid star has worn over 60 versions of the Nike Mercurial cleat since he was signed by the company.
