The recent teaser for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 saw Magnus fighting a man who resembles like Alec. Harry Shum Jr. previously teased that Malec will get into a serious fight in the instalment.
Freeform has released two new trailers for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 ahead of its premiere on Jan. 2. 2017. One of the previews show the warlock Magnus Bane pin a man against the wall using his powers. It is unclear who Magnus is fighting in the video.
However, the man surely resembles Alec Lightwood. The fight scene also happens after Magnus' voiceover says, "There will always be a war." Coincidentally, the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 trailer highlights the war between demons and Shadowhunters.

In the teaser, Jace Wayland's voiceover reminds viewers about the importance of the Shadowhunters in keeping the peace between humans and demons. These include keeping the humans safe from vampires, werewolf and witches or warlocks. Does this mean that Magnus and Alec will have their first ever serious fight in "Shadowhunters" Season 2?
Harry Shum Jr., who plays Magnus Bane, previously teased that Malec will get into an epic fight in the instalment. He said there will be magic involved, since the warlock will use his powers against the Shadowhunter.
Shum told Out magazine that Malec's fight scene would have hilarious dialogue as well. There will be great effects and action.
"And of course, magic! You can never have too much magic," he said.
It seems the new "Shadowhunters" Season 2 trailer revealed just that. Magnus uses magic to fend off his opponent.
Regardless, it is unclear what caused the lovers to engage in a fight. Perhaps Alec's behaviour finally irked the warlock. Previous spoilers for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 revealed that Malec will be in serious trouble, because of Jace. Alec is greatly affected by Jace's betrayal that he starts to push those close to him away, including Magnus Bane.
