As everybody is anticipating, Samsung may be coming up with something big in 2017 to bury the Galaxy Note 7 disaster. The "big" could very well be the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8, two smartphones that are already highly anticipated. Moreover, if Samsung is going with foldable screens, fans may finally choose to let go off their Note 7 frustration and rejoice.
Both the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 need to be smash hits for the company and for that to happen, the South Korean giant is ready to take a risk with the designs of the devices. Foldable screen it is! If latest reports are to be believed, Samsung is currently experimenting with two-screen and bendable display models as part of its two-track strategy for the flagships.
According to a report by Korean website ET News, the dual screen smartphone that Samsung is developing will use a flat display on both sides. It's also developing a foldable handset, bending a single flexible OLED display. The two types of foldable handsets will be totally different from each other. If these smartphones are the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8, it means users will have breakthrough designs in their hands in 2017.
Tech Times reports via the Korean website that the dual screen model could be released first for assessing users' reaction. Based on the feedback, Samsung will release the foldable handset. One of the two handsets, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 or Galaxy S8, will have a rectangular design with a foldable OLED display.
The second model will be more tablet-like that will bend in half from the middle. It will have screens on both front and back. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 could sport dual cameras, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895 chipsets, 4-6GB RAM, 4K resolution displays & AI Assistant. Just like the Apple iPhone 7, the two Samsung flagships may also drop the 3.5mm headphone jack. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 may be released during MWC 2017.
