NBA Trade Rumors: Lakers, Magic could work on deal involving Nikola Vucevic, Nick Young and Lou Williams

The Los Angeles Lakers could offer Orlando Magic a trade package consisting Nick Young and Lou Williams in exchange for Nikola Vucevic, Mario Hezonja and a future draft pick.

The Magic are reportedly looking to add scorers on their roster in hopes of improving the team's inefficient offense, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel. With plenty of tradable assets in hand, the Magic are in position to add firepower to an offense ranked eighth worst in the league, with an efficiency rating of 94.1 points per 100 possession.

According to Christian Rivas of Sports Illustrated's Fansided, one of the potential trade partners for the Magic is the Los Angeles Lakers, who have a pair of prolific scorers to offer in Lou Williams and Nick Young.

Williams and Young have both been in excellent form playing under Luke Walton's schemes. Williams is posting a career-high in points, averaging 19.5 points a game off the bench, while Young has earned back a spot in the starting lineup, scoring 13.4 points, while shooting a staggering 46.0 percent from the field. Both players are threat from the outside and would be tremendous boosts for the Magic.

On the other hand, the Lakers would receive Vucevic, who is likely the odd man out in Orlando's crowded frontcourt. Adding Vucevic would give the Lakers another skilled big man on a more team-friendly deal. At 26, Vucevic has yet to reach his prime and would be a perfect building block for the Lakers' youngsters.

In Rivas' trade scenario, the Lakers would send Williams, Young and Luol Deng to Orlando for Vucevic, Jeff Green, Mario Hezonja and a future-second round pick. Such deal adds instant offense to the Magic, while the Lakers gets to clear some cap space for the summer of 2017 with Green's expiring contract and add two pieces in Vucevic and Hezonja to grow alongside LA's own core of young talents.

Whether the Magic are truly interested to pursue a trade with the Lakers remains to be seen. But considering Orlando's needs, a trade with the Lakers would be worth considering as long as it won't cost the Magic much.
