Creator Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed a few weeks ago the "Gran Turismo Sport" or "GT Sport" is optimized for the PlayStation 4 Pro. With this confirmation, they released a new trailer video showing the new game's capabilities.
At the recent PSX event, the "Gran Turismo Sport" trailer video confirms the fact that the game is optimized with the new PS4 Pro. This means that the game supports the 4k and HDR standards. VR compatibility was also mentioned on the video, however, it will only appear on the selected tracks and car.
Yamauchi said "Gran Turismo Sport" will take the advantage of the PS4 Pro's HDR 10 capability and it also support 10,000 nits of brightness. The colors increase in display are over the standard RGB.
According to Alphr report, PS4 Pro's innovative checkerboarding technique will be used in "Gran Turismo Sport" to bring the gameplay up to 4K resolution. Yamauchi stated that the company has implemented the new technologies for the game visual enhancements specially the rendering of the checkerboard.
"Gran Turismo Sport" will render at 60fps on a 1080p TV. Even if you don't have a 4K TV, you will still be able to see some performance benefits of the game.
VR is not the primary focus of "Gran Turismo Sport." Instead, it appears that it is only for the game's VR experience like "Star Wars Battlefront" X Wing VR mission.
Road and Track cited when "Gran Turismo" first appeared in 1997, it brought a realistic racing game. Later on, every subsequent entry into the franchise has upped the ante and the newest "Gran Turismo Sport" looks to continue this tradition.
The developers are more committed than ever on making "Gran Turismo Sport" the best GT game to ever. Another fact for this matter, Ferrari's classic red and McLaren's classic orange are also included. The trailer video doesn't reveal a fixed release date for the game, but it will surely be coming out in 2017.
