Apple AirPods is still waiting to be released. Although the tech giant already announced its supposed launching weeks ago, it seems that things are not working out as planned so they have to postpone the release wireless earphones.
The AirPods was supposed to arrive in the market in October but this did not happened. People who were waiting for the item were puzzled as there was no word from Apple about the delay. Moreover, retailers have listed the wireless earphones as "coming soon" instead of being on sale already.
According to Wall Street Journal, the delay of AirPods was caused by technical issues. The publication explained that since Apple is making sure that both ear pieces can receive signals at the same time, this checking slowed down the production so it was not released on the date intended.
"Apple must ensure that both earpieces receive audio at the same time to avoid distortion," a source told the paper. It was added that the tech company is also working to solve the issue related to the Airpods running out of battery or what will happen when one of the ear piece got lost.
Another possible reason why the Airpods are not out yet is the problem relating to the big production of the item. It was said that Apple cannot handle the huge amount of orders that it is required to make in just a short time frame.
Moreover, a source said that since detecting the issues with Airpods, the repairs will take time and Apple needs to fix at least 10 million units. Therefore, the delay is unavoidable.
The Apple Airpods are especially made to go with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. These smartphones do not have a 3.5 mm jack for earphones so the wireless Airpods fits the bill. This gadget was designed to received connection signals via bluetooth.
Digitimes noted that shipping of the Apple Airpodes is expected to begin in January 2017. The wireless earphones will cost $159/pair.
