Fans' reactions to 20th Century Fox dropping the first footage of "Alien: Covenant" have been positive. The sequel to Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" has been shown to fans during the annual presentation showcase in New York.
Michael Fassbender will be reprising his role as the robot David as shown in the trailer. Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, played by Noomi Rapace is also rumored to be returning briefly in the movie. The movie "Alien: Covenant" is being categorized as horror and according to most fans, it looks "intense. Gory. Terrifying. Disgusting. Can't wait to see the rest of it." It would seem that "Alien" fans appreciate the trailer, and are waiting for more.
There is also so much praise for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" actress Katharine Waterston as the new lead female lead character known as Daniels. One fan even noted that she is "poised to pick up the mantle of Ellen Ripley," the character that is popularly played by Sigourney Weaver. There are also reports that James Franco will be jumping in with the crew in "Alien: Covenant." According to AVPGalaxy, James Franco will play the role of Branson, the husband of Daniels, and the captain of the Covenant. Speculations have it that his role would only last for the first ten minutes of the film and then flashbacks or intermittent appearances moving on.
Ridley Scott is back in the director's chair and although the plot for "Alien: Covenant" is not yet clear, generally it tells the story of a ship that is called the Covenant, which is on a journey to what would seem like an uncharted planet. The planet turns out to be dangerous and their only hope would be with the help of the only survivor of the ill-fated Prometheus expedition, the robot David (Michael Fassbender).
