"Diablo 3" is getting a major update with the arrival of "Diablo III: Rise of the Necromancer" DLC, which is set to release sometime in 2017. Fans are quite excited knowing that the classic character will make a comeback, but Blizzard has already confirmed that there will be changes coming along with this update.
As previously reported by GamenGuide, "Diablo 3: Rise of the Necromancer" will need the base game and the "Reaper of Souls" expansion to run on PC, and "Ultimate Evil Edition" for console players. It has also been confirmed that the Necromancer class will have a female counterpart, but the development team hasn't finalized the concept yet.
Apart from the return of the Necromancer hero class, "Diablo 3: Rise of the Necromancer" will also introduce two new zones for players to explore: the Shrouded Moors and Temple of the First Born, which are available in the game's Adventure Mode. Players can also expect new events and bounties on these areas.
"Diablo 3: Rise of the Necromancer" Shrouded Moors is described to be a harsh, inhabitable location that has been around for hundreds of years. In this fog-covered area, a dark force awaits its victims. Temple of the Firstborn, on the other hand, is an old monument to the earliest nephalem. This monument is "hidden beneath the surface of Sanctuary, where it has escaped the notice of most mortals."
For now, those are the only details about the new zones for "Diablo 3: Rise of the Necromancer" that Blizzard has shared. Fans can expect more details about the anticipated DLC in the coming months. As for "Diablo 4," fans continue to wait for more updates on whether or not Blizzard will release a new installment to the franchise.
There have been talks that "Diablo 4" is not happening because developer Blizzard Entertainment is currently focused on "Diablo 3," which is set to receive the "Rise of the Necromancer" DLC next year. It is also expected that the developer will focus more on the current installment before announcing on a new one.
While waiting for "Diablo 3: Rise of the Necromancer" fans can read up on how this beloved hero class will be different from the current Witch Doctor here. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for updates.
