It's been a few months since Ubisoft's newest hack and slash video game "For Honor" garnered buzz for its amazing new gameplay. The studio has remained tight lipped since its first announcement during this year's E3 and since they released a slew of videos showcasing the three factions in the game. Come Valentine's Day next year, gamers can play as the knight, samurai, or viking. The latest news surrounding "For Honor" is that Ubisoft requires gamers to have strong internet connection while playing the game.
The news was revealed by PlayStation Lifestyle, which reports that the art for the "For Honor" packaging has been spotted by Twitter user Wario64. The user noted that the packaging indicates "Internet connection required," contrary to what Ubisoft claimed that gamers can play offline.
But what's the reason behind why Ubisoft requires gamers to have strong internet connection while playing "For Honor?" Creative director Jason VandenBerghe told Gamespot that as a single player, gamers can play as the knight, viking, or samurai. More importantly, he said that gamers "ould be satisfied even if you never went online and played multiplayer. It's intended to be a full experience."
This statement is contrary to what the "For Honor" game indicates in its packaging. So what is the reason behind why Ubisoft requires gamers to have strong internet connection while playing "For Honor?" The notice on the packaging may indicate a need for an internet connection most likely for the multiplayer mode. If gamers are to play as a single player, it may not require an internet connection anymore.
Ubisoft's "For Honor" is set to arrive on February 14, 2017 to Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is directed by Jason VandenBerghe and produced by Stephane Cardin. As of now, Ubisoft hasn't released any official statements about the notice that gamers must have a strong internet connection while playing. Keep checking back for the latest on "For Honor."
