‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Spoilers, News & Update: Director’s Mashup Trailer Of Original Batman v Superman Film Disappoints Fans

The mashup trailer of “Batman v Superman” and “Star Wars” by director Zack Snyder failed to impress fans and critics. It is not the first time Zack Snyder made a mashup trailers involving movies within the DC Extended Universe.

Director Zack Snyder has access to the original reels of the DC Universe since he had previously directed “Man of Steel,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and one upcoming film – “Justice League." In other forthcoming DC movies, he has a production role. Observers think that with the newly released trailer smashup, it was his way of telling DC he wants to really make a “Star Wars” movie that’s why the smashup combined “Batman v Superman”and “Star War,” The Verge observes.

Not A Fan-Made Trailer

The tech website said director Zack Snyder’s mashup of “Batmas v Superman” and “Star Wars” does not count as a fan-made trailer since the director has access to the original production assets. In the trailer, the superheroes are in a galaxy farther away where Superman wields a green lightsaber, while Batman had joined the Sith and is now using a doubled-bladed red saber.

Prior to making the “Batman v Superman” and “Star Wars” mashup trailer, director Zack Snyder swapped “Star Wars” and DC Crossover world with J.J. Abrams, director of “The Force Awaken.” In 2014, Abrams created a mashup in which there was a Batmobile cameo on the “Millennium Falcon.”

Female Trailer Director Better?

The Verge, however, felt a female director would have made a better “Batmas v Superman” and “Star Wars” mashup trailer than what director Zach Snyder did. Collider added that despite the director being a talented visual filmmaker, he is weak in storytelling making the trailer look like one made by a fan and not a director of DC films.

Since Zach Snyder would be directing “Justice League” in 2017, he appears to have a lot of spare time now to make the “Batmas v Superman” and “Star Wars” mashup trailer. “Justice League” would hit theaters in November 2017.
