"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is almost done with its winter finale but still, there's no sign of Nina Dobrev coming back to join the previous co-stars of TVD. Now, reports are rampant that the "XXX: Return Of Xander" actress has ditched TV series role, and wants to focus on making movies. Nina Dobrev is reported to be more comfortable in making movies rather than making TV series.
According to Gamenguide, Nina's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will greatly depend on the producers and higher powers. This was spoken by Nina herself during an interview at the AMA's Red Carpet 2016. Although the producers have yet to comment on this issue, many fans are still hoping that the actress will somehow return as Elena so that she could reunite with Damon.
Julie Plec in an interview had seriously expressed that Nina's character in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is crucial in the finale season, since her character was the heart and soul of the story, Digital Spy reports. Without Nina, the show would be incomplete.
Although Plec strongly wants Nina to return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 4, rumors are rife that the actress is ditching TV series roles, and wants to focus on making movies. This may be true since Nina has just starred in a movie with Vin Diesel. The actress is rumoured to be signing up for more movie projects, and would not have time in shooting tv series.
With this reports going on, Ian Somerhalder, Nina's past love interest is happy with the actress' decision in dropping her role in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. It can be recalled that the actor is not really comfortable in playing boyfriend role with his ex. However, Nina and Ian have yet to confirm these rumors.
