We've known for a while that Capcom is offering one of its more eclectic chararacters, Poison, in Ultra Street Fighter 4, but now, the developer has released some videos showing the newcomers' combos that will be hitting when the newish characters and game arrive next year, and Capcom Unity has posted them on YouTube so everyone can have a look.
Of all of Capcom's characters, Poison has perhaps the most colored background, matched only by Nintendo's Birdo. Like her Ultra Street Fighter 4 co-horts Rolento and Hugo, Poison first appeared in the arcade smash hit, Final Fight, taking her name from the popular band, but her rose sported an entirley different kind of thorn. You see, the Japanese figured that the American market wouldn't take too kindly to the idea of vigilantes beating women, so they decided to make a big switch.
According to Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono, here in the states, Poison is a post-op pugilist. In Japan, she just keeps her business tucked away, literally. Similarly, when porting Final Fight to home consoles, Nintendo straight up replaced the character and her palette swap altogether with male characters with the same move set (might want to check this out for more details).
Whatever version of Poison appears in Ultra is never stated, which is why we're playing the pronoun game a la "Chasing Amy."
Anyway, Poison's unique history is probably why she never appeared in many Capcom titles as little more than a cameo character. Poison was technically playable before in both Final Fight Revenge, as well as Street Fighter X Tekken, but Ultra Street Fighter 4 this will be the first time he /she will be playable in a straight up Street Fighter title, and not a crossdress...I mean cross over.
Whatever is or isn't under those short shorts, Poison is quick on her feet, utilizing a combination of pro wrestling and street fighting techniques from her days with the Mad Gear gang. She also has some shoto-styled fireballs and rising uppers. But when the meter's full, she's not afraid to let fly with the riding crop, or even go for a few cheap shots below the belt.

While these videos are great, there's still no word on the identity of that brand new fighter. All we have to go on is what Capcom Senior Product manager Matt Dahlgren told the Jace Hall Show: "This character [has] never been featured in a Street Fighter game up until now." Ultra Street Fighter 4 "will be the first time he (or she) makes their fighting game debut." That would rule out a great number of Capcom's other characters who've appeared in countless cross over games, like X-Men Vs Capcom, Marvel Vs Capcom, etc.
So while it's entirely possible that it's a brand new character, the chances are also good the character could be a familiar face (fingers crossed for someone from the beat 'em ups Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, or Alien vs. Predator, if only for the chance it could mean a possible port for either game on PSN or Xbox Live). We'll just have to wait and see.
Ultra Street Fighter 4 will release in two forms, with the player picking whichever they like:
1. As a $15 DLC upgrade - choose this route if you already have a copy of Street Fighter 4. With the price breakdown, it means you get each new character at $3 each.
2. As an all-new physical release, on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Besides the new characters, players will also get six new stages, all of which featured in Street Fighter X Tekken: Cosmic Elevator, Mad Gear Hideout, Jurassic Era Research Facility, Blast Furnace, and Pitstop 109.
Capcom recently announced that players could expect the game in Spring of next year.
If you wanna take a look at the other fighters, you'll spy the articles with the videos back at the main page.
