An exciting development occurred in the last episode of "Yuri on Ice," the tenth for the season, entitled "Gotta Supercharge It! Pre-Grand Prix Super Final." A sweet and possibly inevitable moment took place between Yuri and Viktor. They got engaged! They exchanged gold rings in front of a church and said some touching words to each other. The round gold thing Yuri promised Viktor was a ring after all.
In "Yuri on Ice" episode 10, this momentous occasion was made common knowledge at a spontaneous gathering of the Grand Prix Final figure skating contenders---except JJ, that is---which was a dinner of sorts. Christophe Giacometti, the athlete from Switzerland, noticed Yuri's and Viktor's gold rings. Phichit congratulated them enthusiastically. Chris beamed on the couple while Yurio appeared stupefied at the news.
At the avid congratulations, Viktor reacted, saying it was merely an engagement and that the marriage would come sometime later after Yuri wins the gold from the Finals. JJ at this point came in with his fiancée in tow saying it was he who would win the gold medal, not Yuri.
The engagement was the highlight of the previous episode 10 of "Yuri on Ice," but it also featured a briefer on the various athletes who would be competing in the Gran Prix Finals match, which will be covered in the next episode.
Episode 11 of "Yuri on Ice," entitled, "Gotta Supercharge It! Grand Prix Final Short Program," will be graced by Nobunari Oda as the commentator for the Finals. Oda is a professional skater in real life, a four-time Grand Prix Final medalist. The Asahi TV commentator Tahei Kato will also be joining the former in this eagerly awaited episode and will play Hisashi Morooka.
In the rumored last episode for the first season of "Yuri on Ice," Yuri will be intensely focused and give his all to the competition. Sadly, a report has it that despite all his hard work, Yuri will lose the said competition and with it, his desire to continue competing. But Yurio and Viktor will be restoring his love for the sport and competition and may take to the rink once more.
Episode 11 of "Yuri on Ice" will air Dec. 14. There has been no announcement to confirm rumors that it will be the last episode of the season, or even if a second season is a go. Fans are hopeful though that a second helping of the highly popular anime series will roll around. Talk has it that the sophomore season may deal more on Yuri's possible retirement and his comeback, and a looked-forward-to update on his relationship with Viktor.
