NBA Trade Rumors: Magic could trade for Raptors' Terrence Ross as team looks to add scorer

The Orlando Magic could trade for Toronto Raptors shooting guard Terrence Ross in hopes of adding a scorer on their roster.

The Magic are reportedly on the hunt for a scorer, with the team lacking a go-to-guy in their lineup. One of the contributing factors to the Magic's disappointing outings in the first quarter of the season is their dysfunctional offense. The Magic's offense ranks 22nd in the league, with an efficiency rate of 94.1 points per 100 possessions.

According to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, Orlando is ready to explore the trade market to try and land a player, who can elevate the team's offense.

"The Orlando Magic will sift through the trade market in an effort to add a scorer, a league source with knowledge of the situation told the Orlando Sentinel," Robbins wrote.

It is unclear who the Magic have in their list, but with plenty of tradable assets in hand, there should be a handful of targets available for Orlando. Justin Rowan of Hoops Habit explored viable options the Magic could consider, including Toronto Raptors shooting guard Terrence Ross, who could be an "enticing target" for Orlando.

Ross is off to a good start for the Raptors, averaging 10.2 points, while shooting on a career-high 49.4 percent from the field, including 44.6 from the three-point area. In Rowan's trade scenario, the Magic would send Serge Ibaka to Toronto for Ross, giving Orlando a piece who could fit alongside the team's core of young talents.

The Raptors have long been intrigued of adding Ibaka after losing Bismack Biyombo in free agency. Moving Ibaka would open up minutes for Biyombo and Nikola Vucevic, while giving Toronto a veteran who could help them turn into legit title contenders.

"The Raptors tried to go after Serge Ibaka on draft night and failed. Now, with the asking price likely reduced there's a possibly that a deal could be swung," Rowan wrote.

"Ross would be the obvious first choice for the Magic. Ross will be turning 26 this year and could blossom in a scoring role with the Magic."

It is unclear whether the Magic would be interested in trading for Ross, much less moving Ibaka, whom they acquired at the expense of Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova and Domantas Sabonis. But if the Magic are desperate to add a scorer, Ross seems a suitable option.
