“Airpods” Release Date, News & Updates: Bluetooth Glitch Cripples Airpods, Won’t Be Ready For Christmas Release

It was indeed a miscalculated risk. The breakthrough that Apple trumpeted on ditching the historic earphone jack, which will supposedly pave the way for the wireless Airpods, failed. This after the W1 chips, a piece of technological architecture embedded in each of the two earpieces, failed to synchronize in receiving Bluetooth signal.

During the September launch of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple boosted that the engineering breakthrough within W1 chips will provide seamless and reliable wireless connection. Amid the silence of the Cupertino tech giant on the blunder, and the series of delays on the release of Airpods, GamenGuide earlier reported that Apple is facing a severe technological blunder on the device.

In a report by The Wall Street Journal, a person familiar with the development of the AirPod revealed that the glitch may have originated from Apple's effort to chart a new path for wireless headphones. For existing wireless headphones, only one earpiece receives the Bluetooth signal and it then transmits the signal to the other earpiece. But Apple attempted to push the wireless technology to another level by designing Airpods with each of the pair of earpieces receiving independent signal from one source.

This is where the first crack of the blunder begins because Apple has to make sure that both earpieces have to receive the audio signal at the same time. If not, Airpod users will be listening to a distorted output with each ear getting different audio tempo.

Another challenge also rests on the highly hyped voice accelerometer feature of the Airpods, where it recognizes when you are talking and automatically filters noise to focus on the sound of your voice. While it is possible indoors where Bluetooth signals can be contained, the real challenge is when the device will be outdoor and in public places where there are multiple loud and clear audio sources with no walls for Bluetooth signal to bounce back.

As the truth behind the Airpod glitch slowly coming to open after months of silence, Apple fans and iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users - the supposed first batch of recipients of the emerging wireless technology of Airpods - would evidently have a prolong agony beyond Christmas as the device will evidently won't make it during the Holiday Season. So what's going on in Cupertino with this Airpod debacle?
