Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Nicolas Batum scored 16 points each, while Kemba Walker added 15, as the Charlotte Hornets continue their streak with a 109-88 win over the Orlando Magic at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Key Point of the Match:
After building a 52-46 lead at halftime, the Hornets continued to heat up in the third quarter. Led by Walker, Charlotte extended their lead to as many as 21 points before keeping the lead for the remainder of the match.
Players of the Match:
While Walker is still pouring in really good numbers offensively, Kidd-Gilchrist is having an outstanding season defensively. The former Kentucky Wildcats stand is not only locking down perimeter players, but providing solid stats offensively as well. Evan Fournier recorded 14 and Serge Ibaka has 12 for the Magic team that is still having a hard time to score.
Aftermath:
The Hornets have now won six of their last eight games to keep them on top of the Southeast Division with a 14-9 record. They are about to kick off a 5-game road trip, starting off with a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. The Magic meanwhile continued to regress and are now four games below .500 with a 10-14 slate.
