This would be epic! Kanye West is determined to put his dramatic hospitalization behind him and step up to the Grammys stage in 2017. Gamenguide.com has all the EXCLUSIVE details on his big comeback performance plans.
"He wants a spot on the Grammy stage, he is telling everyone that will listen that he wants nothing more than to be onstage at the show and perform something new," reveals a source. Originally Kanye said he wouldn't attend the ceremony if Frank Ocean, 29, wasn't nominated, and Frank ended up getting the snub when Grammy nods were announced Dec. 6. But Kanye is changing his tune!
"Kanye says things that are on his mind and then he thinks about it afterwards and decides what is actually the thing he wants to do. He felt strongly about Frank's album and went grand with his thoughts about it. But not showing up to the Grammys, that was a weak threat and Kanye was just being Kanye," our insider adds. Yeezy's The Life of Pablo is up for seven Grammys, including Best Rap Album and he's taking the nominations seriously. "Kanye feels that he should always be nominated and he feels he should always be invited to the Grammys. He spoke about Frank passionately, but he also has a passion to be on the show. At the end of the day, Kanye wants to be the center of attention. Being nominated is expected to be automatic in his mind," our insider adds.
The rapper made his first public appearance Dec. 8 at a designer friend's high-end furniture exhibition in West Hollywood. He's now rocking hair that's dyed blond and looked to be in good health and spirits from an Instagram pic that a pal shared. That's quite a relief after the rollercoaster few weeks that saw him have an alleged mental breakdown at his trainer's house Nov. 21 that led to an eight day hospitalization in UCLA's Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. We're so glad he's out and doing better now. The Grammys are still a long ways off - February 12, 2017 - so he's got plenty of time to rest up and get back to his old self before blowing us away at the ceremony!
