It looks like Richard E. Grant has been confirmed as someone named "Rice". The name is not lost to Marvel comic book fans, who immediately connected Grant's "mad scientist" to Doctor Zander Rice. But now that it has been revealed that the actor will play a large role in the creation of X-23, does this mean that Laura will be subjected to horrible torture in "Wolverine 3"?

The latest post on the 'Logan' Instagram account finally offered a first glimpse at Richard E. Grant's villain, and no, he isn't playing Doctor Sinister. The veteran actor WILL play a doctor, but it is someone connected to Laura instead of Hugh Jackman's character.
"Rice" is undoubtedly Doctor Zander Rice, the villain who helped create X-23 using Wolverine's DNA. Although it is possible that Laura's backstory will be somehow different in "Logan", Grant's role could still mean bad things for X-23. For one, the little girl could go through the horrible experiments depicted in the comic books that might lead to her escape from his laboratory. But is it possible that X-23 will kill Rice in "Wolverine 3"?
