‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Official Trailer, Spoilers, News & Update: Tom Holland’s Spidey Costume Photo Surfaces; Peter Parker Attends High School For Gifted Kids

Ahead of the debut of the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” official trailer on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday night, a photo of Tom Holland wearing the new Spider-Man costume has surfaced. More information about his character Peter Parker and the film’s villain came with the image.

The photo came from an unused concept art from “Captain America: Civil War” which showed Tony Spark giving Peter Parker a message asking him to go to Avengers Tower for his upgraded costume. The scene showing Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) delivering the high-tech costume is the opening video of the trailer preview of “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

Main Villain

Movieweb adds that besides the costume upgrade, spoilers for the movie set for release on July 7, 2017, identified Adrian Toomes, aka Vulture (Michael Keaton), as the primary villain in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Unlike old superhero movies when the protagonist was almost perfect and invincible, Peter Parker in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” learns and makes major mistakes, Tom Holland says. An example of how human Peter Parker is, according to Tom Holland, is that as Peter Parker, he is a kid who struggles to talk to girls and save the city.

Back To School

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” starts with Peter Parker’s return from Europe to Queens to lead a normal life. He is enrolled in a secondary school for “gifted children” as a sophomore. Eric Hauserman Carroll, co-producer of the superhero movie, confirmed that storyline which is now being tied in with speculations that the film starts a new trilogy featuring each your of Peter Parker in high school.

Box-office receipt expectations are high for “Spider-Man: Homecoming” because for the five Spider-Man films shown, the producer earned $3.9 billion global receipts which excludes “Captain America: Civil War.” It placed the average of $790 million per movie, next to the “Iron Man” franchise with an average of $808 per film, according to Forbes.
