Whether you've pre-ordered or plan on getting the PlayStation 4 over the Xbox One, or vice versa, one thing that Sony's next-gen console has an advantage over Microsoft is with remote play, so players can keep their PS4 game going on a PS Vita. However, only two games to date are set to be able to use this feature - Knack, and Killzone: Shadow Fall, and there's a new video out showing on the feature works on the latter.
Guerilla Games boss Hermen Hulst pilots the Vita in the short but sweet video. Check it out below.
While Microsoft has a similar feature that lets players log in and take control of games online, Microsoft's lack of a handheld system like the Vita or DS keeps the action from going portable. Apart from remote play, the Vita can also act as second controller for the PS4 as well, keeping you covered when your friend drops in unexpectedly for a bit of one-on-one.
Shadow Fall "is set in a near future, thirty years after the events of Killzone 3. The world is a very different place; two rival factions known as the Helghast and the Vektans live side by side in a futuristic city, divided by a vast wall. Tensions are high, and the cold war they are embroiled in is about to go hot."
The new Killzone will be a launch title for the PlayStation 4 when the console launches later this month.
Under the hood, the PlayStation 4 boasts Supercharged PC architecture, X86 CPU, Enhanced PC GPU, and 8GB Unified Memory according to the official specs.
It will support the same PlayStation Plus service as the Vita and PlayStation 3. However, a Plus subscription will be required for online multiplayer games, but not for additional media services like Netflix. Sony has also updated the Dual Shock controllers with a touch screen and improved shoulder triggers, and bundles the console with a headset.
The PlayStation 4 is set to release on November 15 in North America and on November 29 in Europe. Day one games available for the system includeAssassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Killzone Shadow Fall,Madden NFL 25, Minecraft, NBA 2K14, Need for Speed: Rivals, and more. It will retail for $399.
The company has some last minute games to announce, but won't be doing so until the console gets a bit of its own "midnight madness." The night before it launches, at 11pm EST, GameTrailers TV is hosing a PS4 All Access event, with Sony set to take center stage with some world premieres for titles that have not yet been formally announced in a blaze of last minute hype for the console finally releases. So it's got that going for it, which is nice.
