Sony announced on Wednesday that the sale of its PS4 and PS 4 console units has crossed 50 million mark until December 6. The company analyzed the sales data collected from different sources across the world to figure out the profit acquired from the new and advanced consoles that it introduced in the market.
Sony PS4 & PS4 Pro Sales Data Details
Time mentioned that Sony PS4 and PS4 Pro game consoles will continue to show escalation, given the advanced features and improved technologies used in the devices. The company said that it introduced the game consoles in 122 nations and the sales data has been obtained from each and every nation.
The reason behind such a competitive sales figure can be the Black Friday week. It has been observed that the sale of Sony PS4 and PS4 Pro was considerably high during that week, which marked the best sales week in the history of the brand. No specific details have been provided by the company regarding separate sales figures from individual nations.
Sony PS4 & PS4 Pro Sales Exceeds Previous Limit
The PS4 sales crossed its highest mark of 40 million achieved in May. The record as of December 6 exceeded the highest limit by over 10 million more. This data gives the exact number of units sold to consumers, which is different from the total number of units that Sony shipped to retail shops. The company also stated that the sale of PS4 software via retail stores or PlayStation shops as of December 4 has gone more than 369.6 million mark.
"We're truly delighted that the PS4 community continues to flourish since launch three years ago," Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Andrew House said. "With tremendous support from our fans and partners across the globe, this year we were able to deliver an unprecedented lineup of hardware, including the new slimmer PS4, PS4 Pro, and PlayStation VR," he added.
