What to expect from 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'
Fans of the " A Series of Unfortunate Events" series would know that the story revolves around the Baudelaire orphans whose kids perished in a fire and are now being relegated to the guardianship of a distant "relative," Count Olaf. As they immediately find out, their new steward is a despicable human being who cares very little about their wellbeing and is only after their money.
The first four books of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" -- "The Bad Beginning," "The Reptile Room," "The Wide Window" and "The Miserable Mill" -- will introduce four different guardians who assume stewardship of the Baudelaire orphans. Montgomery Montgomery is the most viable guardian of them all, but is killed after Count Olaf sets loose a venomous snake on him.
VFD in 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" might also involve the VFD, or Volunteer Fire Department, a secret society which included Count Olaf and the Baudelaires' dead parents. After the Schism, the organization split into two, the Fire-Starting and the Fire-Fighting factions. It's believed that Count Olaf was the one who started the fire that killed Beatrice and Bertrand Baudelaire, and is likely to be explored in the series.
