Jeff Franklin recently addressed those speculations that the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, will be in "Fuller House" Season 2. The series creator denied the speculations, but did not rule out their appearance in future seasons.
Jeff Franklin confirmed that "Fuller House" Season 2 will not have a cameo appearance from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. However, he is hopeful that the sisters will appear in future seasons of the show. Franklin is confident that one of these days, the Olsen twins will agree to return. All it takes is patience and more convincing so they would give in. After all, everyone wants to see the twins reprise their role as Michelle.
"The door is still open and I'm sure we will ask and keep trying. Hopefully one of these days, that will happen," Jeff Franklin said in an interview with Variety about "Fuller House" Season 2.
Despite Michelle's absence in the series, the casts make it a point to bring her memory alive. Several episodes in Season 1 and likely in "Fuller House" Season 2 will have references to the character. The casts would refer to her every now and then, just so viewers will not feel like there is a void in the show, because of her absence.
Regardless, Jeff Franklin believes that the success of the show does not depend on the Olsen twins. The events and the storyline in the series are more critical to the success of the show. Franklin said that he and the casts have already made peace with the fact, that the Olsen twins or Michelle is no longer a major part of the show.
The return of the Olsen twins to the sitcom has long been rumored, since Netflix gave the show a green light. Of course, Season 1 ended without their cameo. It is unlikely that they will appear in "Fuller House" Season 2, given their busy schedule running their fashion empire.
