The season finale of the much talked about "Westworld" has ended with a bang. The HBO drama series was a success with the debut of its first season given the high ratings and a lot of followers online. The good news for its fans, the sequel is already underway.
Just this Monday, "Westworld" hit creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy shared their thoughts about the first season. In an interview with The New York Times, both confirmed that the season 2's release date is not likely before 2018. Two years is already a long time to plan the next steps for Dolores (played by Evan Rachel Wood) and another host Robert Ford (played by Anthony Hopkins) given the most exciting season finale.
"Westworld" Season one was all about control while season two is defined by chaos as hosts gain consciousness. Jonathan Nolan might not be returning to the show given that his character as Ford was shot in the head. Though fans may expect Hector, Elsie, Armistice, and William in the next season.
Nolan did not reveal much of what is going to happen in the next season but he wanted it to evolve season by season. Also, Joy explained that the show's comeback on 2018 is enough for its big production and hoped that the fans will be patient enough to wait for its sequel. According to Nolan, Season 2 will be more ambitious and beautifully produced as ever.
On the other hand, aside from the show's enthusiast, Apple's Siri is also a fan. Siri easily responds if asked questions or told quotes regarding "Westworld". For example, if you tell Siri the show's famous line, "These violent delights have violent ends," Siri answers "Someone get me out of this crazy theme park!"
Meanwhile, "Westworld's" episode finale pulled in over 2.2 million viewers which made the sci-fi drama as the most-watched first season of any original series in HBO's history. Stay tuned for more Gamenguide update.
