‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: Niantic Allows Multiple Pokemon Transfers; Leaked Game Files Tease Pokemon Breeding, Avatar Customization And More

Niantic recently gave avid "Pokemon Go" gamers a treat with its various system enhancements, as well as the unveiling of its collaboration with mobile carrier Sprint. However, the gaming company is set to introduce a few more tweaks that may include Pokemon breeding, avatar customization and other new features.

Released on Dec. 6, Tuesday, Niantic's "Pokemon Go" patch version 0.49.1 for Android and 1.19.1 for iOS devices introduced a few improvements to the mobile gaming app. With a system tweak that changed how players can transfer Pokemon creatures to Professor Willow, gamers can now handover several Pokemon monster at a single time, according to patch notes posted on the game's official website.

Apart from the enhanced Pokemon transfer feature, Niantic also added Pokemon type icons to the mobile gaming app's Gym battle screen. "Pokemon Go" players can now see whether a character belongs to a specific type such as a normal Pokemon and more.

Niantic's development team also made enhancements to the game's buddy information screen. Gamers can now see a Buddy Pokemon's total candy count, as well as the total kilometers that it has traveled.

Meanwhile, dataminers from the "Pokemon Go" fan community The Silph Road uncovered hidden game codes in the said patch that hinted of Niantic's upcoming enhancements. Some of the game files pertained to more "shiny" Pokemon creatures potentially being added to the mobile gaming app.

Other game codes pointed to Pokemon characters having gender identifiers. With the addition of male and female Pokemon classifications, gaming speculations pointed to Niantic potentially looking at adding Pokemon breeding to the game.

"Pokemon Go" gamers will also have the chance to customize their avatars with items that can be unlocked or purchased. Hidden game codes hinted at the said functionality that will allow players to change their avatar's clothing and appearance.

For gamers hoping to "dress" their favorite Pokemon characters, leaked game codes also pointed to Niantic adding a variety of Pokemon costumes. One of the game files even contained the code for a "holiday" attire.

At this point, it is unclear if the said leaked game codes will be deployed for "Pokemon Go." Niantic is expected to unveil a new announcement on Dec. 12, Monday. Watch the clip below to learn gaming tips for the game:
