A new game is coming out from three old games. Publisher Activision and developer Vicarious Vision teamed up to bring together "Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy," which is a collection of remastered forms of the previous game titles. First revealed at the PlayStation Experience, the bundle comes with the original "Crash Bandicoot," "Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back" and "Crash Bandicoot: Warped."
According to a blog post by game director Dan Tanguay, the "Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy" is aptly called "remaster plus" instead of labeling it as a remake. They also made use of the original level geometry from Naughty Dog as a guide and rebuilt the gameplay of the title from scratch. "As the levels began to take shape, we layered in our own lush and zany art, animation, and audio," Tanguary wrote.
Gamers can expect a lot of modifications for "Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy" beginning with the rebuilt levels, rebuilt characters, rebuilt cinematics and new features. The team behind the game also mentioned lots of new features but the only ones they revealed so far are the unified checkpointing and save game system, as well as a unified menu system. There are also Time Trials in all three games.
Sony also released a trailer for the upcoming "Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy," showing their effort of modernizing the look of the games. Vicarious Visions are striving to make the 20-year old game appealing to both the old and new gamers. And though reports said that there are a couple of challenges, they are figuring things out and continuing the development.
Activision revealed in a press release that "Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy" title will cost $39.99 only for PlayStation 4. There is no specific release date yet but it's expected to come around in 2017. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out more updates.
