‘Reign’ Season 4 News & Update: Series Spoilers; Series Returns February 10, Queen Elizabeth I Story

The British TV show on The CW will be getting its fourth season, but fans fear that this might also be the last, considering that the schedule has been changed. "Reign Season 4" will air on Feb. 10, but this could be the show's last season due to declining viewer ratings.

"The show being pushed back to a mid-season premiere means that Season 4 could make or break the period drama. If it does well, the Reign Season 4 cast could be back for another season, the show's ratings dropped to 6.14 percent," as stated by Release Date.

This upcoming "Reign season 4" will provide more screen time to Queen Elizabeth I (Rachel Skarsten). Queen Mary Stuart of Scots (Adelaide Kane) has just lost her husband Francis (Toby Regbo). This will start a more intense battle between the two monarchs.

"The fear was sparked from my Twitter post back at it... for the last time? It got many fans talking about the show's end, but they were just filming the last episode of the season," as stated by Dan Jeannotte who stars as the show's James Stuart.

The show will also acquaint fans to new key players. Leesa (Megan Follows); daughter of Catherine de Medici, will make her appearance as part of the "Reign Season 4" cast. The CW network won't reveal the actress just yet, though.

Although the least favored of Catherine's children, Leesa will prove to be a tough political opponent. Other new characters include suitors for Mary's hand. Viewers will finally meet Lord Darnley (Will Kemp) and Bothwell (Adam Croasdell).

The former is a nobleman with a claim to the English throne; while the latter is described as a "Bad Boy," as what written to history books, was accused of murdering someone close to Mary.

The "Reign Season 4" will air on Feb. 10, 2017, on The CW at 9 PM.
