"Amazon Go Grocery Store" reveals the futuristic cashier-free shop with robot revolution. However, the store is foreseen to end millions of jobs.
According to USA Today, "Amazon Go Grocery Store" is under observation or testing in downtown Seattle. The new "Amazon Go Grocery Store" lets customers walk in, grab food from the shelves and walk out again without the need to queue in a checkout line.
The payment is made possible through a smartphone app which customers tap as they walk in the store. The account of the client will log into the store's network and connects to their Amazon account via the app.
'Amazon Go Grocery Store' app service will be using only machine learning sensors as well as artificial intelligence to track items the customer pick. After selecting the item, it will be added to the virtual cart of the app, which the Seattle calls, "Just Walk Out Technology."
Paying is easy for as the customer leaves, the app will automatically add up the items on the 'Amazon Go Grocery Store' account. The customer will be charged according to the price on the Amazon official site.
Furthermore, the 'Amazon Go Grocery Store' has a 24-hours of CCTV cameras and pressure sensors. These cameras and sensors will then automatically detect when an item is taken off the shelves and added to the customer's shopping cart.
However, this 'Amazon Go Grocery Store' though may seem attractive may bring the big problem, The Sun reported. At such instance the 'Amazon Go Grocery Store' may threaten the 2.7 million Brits who work in retail stores.
Recently, Mark Carney, the head of the Bank of England stated that the technological revolution is set to "mercilessly" killing British jobs. "Up to 15 million of the current store jobs in Britain could be automated over time," Carney said in his talk.
"Amazon Go Grocery Store" will eventually lessen the queues in supermarkets for its robotic revolution and cashier-free shops. Apparently, in the future, more citizens are threatening to lose their jobs due to the technological revolution.
