Unlike other upcoming features for “Pokemon Go”, Shiny Pokemon is not expected to be out soon. The game codes may show terms pointing to “Shiny” but all that is purely an indication of things to come.
The activation of “Shiny Pokemon” still depends on Niantic. Seeing how developers took their time implementing such on Gameboy and the Nintendo DS, the feasible time seen for it to appear on “Pokemon Go” is in the Summer of 2017.
Waiting that long shouldn’t be much of a fuss. Everyone knows the expected revelations coming for “Pokemon Go” like Pokemon Trading and Gym Battles. There are also the special in-game events, including the big one for the Holidays. With so much to do, seeing those “Shiny Pokemon” could come near with most not noticing.
“Shiny” and “Rare” in the codes
A look at “Pokemon Go APK version 0.47.1 shows breadcrumbs of “Shiny” and “Rare”, Slash Gear reported. Both seem to be tied up to “Ditto” though any effect to that respect has yet to be seen.
Pokemon Materials are likewise tied up to the “Shiny” in the game codes. For reference, Pokemon Material refers to how a surface should be rendered, which practically makes sense if taken into perspective. This would include textures, tiling information and color tints among others, The Silph Road reported.
Niantic in testing phase
With a Summer release the most logical time for this feature to be implemented, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Niantic is doing some testing as we speak. One can only refer to the Ingress that they did before releasing “Pokemon Go”, so any form of testing could be done in a specific region.
Right now, one thing that many “Pokemon Go” players will want to factor in is that “Shiny Pokemon” will be hard to pin down, Forbes reported. The Gameboy and Nintendo DS may offer easier game play but expect the case to be different on Niantic’s end.
