Toyota Camry 2018 Release Date, Specs, Latest News & Update: Leaked Photo Teases Stellar Design

Toyota Camry 2018 Release Date, Specs, Latest News & Update: Photo Leaks A Teaser Image

Toyota dropped the first official teaser of the 2018 Camry revealing the rear quarter of the car. From the angle, it looks more dashing and chic than anything else we've seen from the Camry, with swooping lines, "fake" vents under the thinner LED lamps and a boot spoiler.

But then, that doesn't say much, as Toyota Camry's mid-size sedan family hasn't just been on the cutting edge of design. A report also mentions that the 2018 Toyota Camry displayed in the teaser images is an XSE trim. That, nonetheless, is apparent given the fact that "XSE" is visible in the picture.

Mainstream fashion has worked for Toyota for decades, however, something about the teaser image of the 2018 Camry shouts the Japanese auto manufacturer is about to unwrap a new ground. Unveiling at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show in January, the next-generation Camry will present a new dare to its main rivals - the Nissan Altima, Ford Fusion, Hyundai Sonata, Mazda6, Honda Accor and the Chevrolet Malibu, according to Digital Trends.

Styling aside, the new Camry will ride on a similar modular platform that derives from the Prius - which is great news, as that chassis is one of the best parts of the Prius - and will use both 2.5-liter four-cylinder and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. There are also reports of a 3.5-liter, V6-powered TRD Camry to rival Ford's Fusion Sport, cites CarScoops.

The Camry line-p will be rounded out by a hybrid version due in 2018. Toyota is the world's market leader in sales of hybrid electric automobiles, and one of the largest companies to encourage the mass-market adoption of hybrid vehicles across the globe. The 2018 Toyota Camry, projected to go on sale in the third quarter of 2017, will enter a market that has been hostile to cars as consumer demand moves toward crossovers and SUVs.
