Ah, yes...autumn. The leaves begin to change colors and fall off the branches, the air gets a bit crisper, and as the sun sets earlier and earlier, things get a bit...creepier. Halloween is in the air, making it the perfect time to dim the lights, settle down under a blanket, and cozy up with a good scary game.
That's what Conan O'Brien has planned for his next "Clueless Gamer," but instead of picking from the whole library of scary games out there, he's asking gamers to pick one for him.
"'Tis the season for killing zombies, monsters, and witches, which is why Conan and web guy Aaron Bleyaert will be playing a horror video game in the next installment of Clueless Gamer. Better yet, we want YOU to help decide what game, so please vote NOW for which blood-spattered gorefest you most want the maestro and his assistant nerd to play or leave your suggestions in the comments."
Whether you like Conan, scary games, or both, head over to the Team Coco site where you can cast your vote at the poll for any of the following games: Slender, Resident Evil, Dead Space, Silent Hill, or Amnesia. The exact games of the respective franchises aren't mentioned, but in the case of Resident Evil, we can at least cross out the sixth game in the series from the list of possible options. Though, I'm sure the game's reboot for the Nintendo GameCube is still up to snuff, even by the standards of some of todays pickiest of gamers. Though, each game in the mentioned series has its own standout moments: the eye piercing scene in Dead Space 2, anything with Pyramid Head for Silent Hill, etc.
I already cast my vote for Slender. With his tall frame coupled with his pale complexion, Conan's a shoe-in for the Internet mythos, and I'd like to hear what kind of humor the host has in store for the game. Also, I think it could be a good way for Blue Isle to share what sort of new content they have planned for the game ahead of Halloween.
The company recently sent out an e-mail to all its customers who purchased The Arrival, informing them that not only was the game on its way to be distributed through Steam, and that new content would be coming for the horrific holiday season. But that's just me.
Enough talk, go cast your votes.
