Michael Bay like it or not, is hard at work and deep into production on the fifth installment of the Tranformers franchise. Although the movie is still about a year away, he has been giving fans a ton of updates on the upcoming "Transformers: The Last Knight" from casting announcements, villain reveals and a story line which seems to be centered at the origins of these characters as hinted by the film director.
According to an official synopsis for the upcoming film as reported by Joblo, "Transformers: The Last Knight" will focus on Optimus Prime returning to Cybertron as hinted by the previous film only to discover that Cybertron has now become a dead planet. In an effort to bring his home planet back to life, Optimus Prime heads back to Earth in search of a mysterious artifact. If that is not enough, the artifact that Prime is searching fore has connections to the wizard Merlin hinting that the wizard owes his powers from a Transformer.
Going further, it seems that "Transformers: The Last Knight" will now fully dive into British mythology which would mean the introduction to some English Autobots who may have ties to the origins of the Tranformers. In his absence the Autobots will be led by the newly designed Bumblebee and it is also speculated that the Dinobots will make an appearance after their disappointing brief stint in the previous film "Transformers: Age of Extinction."
With that said it is safe to say that the upcoming "Transformers: Last Knight" is something that fans are really looking forward to. Although, its cast and in depth plot details are still on the wraps with the way film director Michael Bay has been handing out details looks like fans will not have to wait long as the film is expected to be released June 23, 2017. There has no official confirmation of a sequel yet however, Screenrant reports of a speculated Bumblebee Spinoff, to be followed by hopefully its sequel a year after.
