Want to meet the voices behind the dark knight and the clown prince of crime in the upcoming prequel, Batman: Arkham Origins? Then make sure you're in Stratford, England on October 25.
According to a press release, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is sending Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker, Arkham Origins' Batman and Joker respectively, are heading out to GAME to meet fans and picking up the Bat-prequel and sign copies.
"To mark the launch day of the next instalment in the Batman: Arkham series, games industry veterans Smith and Baker will be meeting fans and signing copies of the title at GAME's Stratford store between 09.00 and 11.00am on Friday, October 25, 2013."
If Stratford is a bit of a hike, fear not. The non-traditional dynamic duo is also heading out to MCM London Comic Con to sign more autographs and answer fan questions at their own panel.
Interestingly, Arkham Origins isn't their first collaboration. The two have previously worked together on Saints Row III and IV, as well as Capcom's Resident Evil 6, with Smith playing Chris Redfield, and Baker taking on Jake Muller.
Roger Craig Smith is one of the most recognizable voice actors in the entertainment business today, recently lending his voice as the lead villain "Ripslinger" in Disney's animated feature "PLANES," which debuted in August 2013. He takes on the role of Bruce Wayne and Batman for the very first time in Batman: Arkham Origins. He's also well known for voicing the Assassin's Creed series' Ezio, various Metal Gear titles, and Resident Evil's Chris Redfield and Sonic the Hedgehog on multiple occasions.
Rapidly becoming one of the most prominent and prolific names in videogames, Troy has performed in some of the most critically and commercially successful games of this generation. Batman: Arkham Origins marks the first time in the franchise that Troy has taken on the role of The Joker. Prior, he gave voice to Robin/Tim Drake and Two Face/Harvey Dent in Arkham City. He's also known for playing BioShock Infinite's Booker DeWitt, Joel in The Last of Us, Ocelot in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and numerous other roles in Injustice: Gods Among Us, God of War: Ascension, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and a bevy of other titles.
Batman: Arkham Origins stars a younger, not as experienced Batman we've seen in past Arkham games, and has the criminal Black Mask offering a boatload of cash to whoever can kill the caped crusader. Confirmed classic characters include Penguin, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Scarecrow, Bane, Copperhead, Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, Firefly, the Joker, Anarky, and others.
Batman is armed with more than just his grapnel gun and batarangs. He's actually carrying a few new toys thrown in for good measure, all to help him pummel thugs throughout a Gotham city that's almost double the size of the one seen in Arkham City. The game will release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. A follow-up, Batman: Arkham Origins - Blackgate, is also in development by Armature Studio, set to release for Nintendo's 2 and 3DS, and the PS Vita the same day. The games will release on all platforms worldwide on Oct. 25, 2013.
