It doesn't look good for the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity Wars" when speculations are rife that Chris Evans will be leaving the Captain America role and handing it to the fellow co-star Sebastian Stan. "Avengers: Infinity Wars" is an anticipated movie for the Avengers saga, where every Marvel actor and actress will be featured to battle out Earth's survival against the Godlike alien creature, Thanos.
Sebastian Stan Reprises The Captain America Role For 'Avengers: Infinity Wars'
In the actor's Instagram account, Stan posted a photo and is seen to be carrying a shield similar to that of Captain America with a caption "will come handy." However, the said shield does not have Captain America's red and blue signature. The shield in Stan's photo has a plain, metal surface with a red star at the middle, representing Stan's "Avengers: Infinity Wars" character, the Winter Soldier.
Meanwhile, "Avengers: Infinity Wars" is speculated to have a new Captain America who will battle out with Thanos and will supervise Bucky in the film. However, It is still unclear if the Winter Soldier will take control of the Avenger in "Avengers: Infinity Wars", but there are reports that Sebastian Stan is fitted to be in the shoes of Captain America.
With that said, this maybe the time that Steve Rogers will be passing on the mantle of Captain America to one of the character's closest friends. In the Marvel Comic Universe, Captain America is shown to be passing his trust and friendship with two of his best buddies, Bucky Barnes A.K.A. The Winter Soldier and The Falcon.
Marvel President Kevin Feige, did stated that it is possible for an "Avengers: Infinity Wars" without Captain America in it. Feige added that the company is not planning to do it in the Marvel Movie Universe, but the Marvel President did read a couple of Captain America comics without Steve Rogers being the hero.
