Forbes revealed that Selena Gomez has had eight of the 10 most-liked celebrity images on Instagram, and seven of the top 10 celebrity videos in 2016. Based on the top 10 Instagram list, eight are female, with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Cristiano Ronaldo being the remaining male stars.
Instagram noted that young female celebrities like Selena Gomez are the most successful users at the moment. After Selena Gomez is Taylor Swift, who topped the 2015 Instagram list. The Grammy winner is now second with just over 94 million followers.
Ariana Grande is third with over 90 million followers, and then Beyonce with 89.4 million. Kim Kardashian rounds out the top five with 88.5 million Instagram followers.
Ronaldo is in sixth place with 83.2 million, followed by Kylie Jenner with 80.3 million. The Rock is at No. 8 with 71.8 million followers, then Nicki Minaj with 69.6 million and finally, Kendall Jenner, with over 69 million followers.
