Pablo Escobar got his story featured in the Netflix series "Narcos," which has been renewed for another season, hitting the streaming service sometime next year. In the previous season, Pablo (Wagner Moura) has finally met his demise, ending his story in the drug trade - just like how it was in history in Netflix's own version. With Pablo out of the picture, what could be next in "Narcos" Season 3?
"Narcos" Season 3 is expected to cover more on the arc of the Cali Cartel, which was teased toward the end of the previous season. The events of Season 2 also paved way to Pena's (Pedro Pascal) return as he pursues the cartel. Pascal has already been confirmed to be part of Season 3 when a teaser photo of his character was released. On the other hand, it remains unclear if Pena's partner, Steve Murphy, played by Boyd Holbrook, will return for the next season or not.
What's certain is that two actors have been confirmed to join "Narcos" Season 3 and could replace the Javier-Steve duo. Michael Stahl-David and Matt Whelan recently joined the cast. Stahl-David will step into the role of young American DEA agent Chris Feistl, who sought to be assigned to Colombia and Whelan will be his partner, Daniel Van Ness. Of the two, Feistl is the more serious one, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Narcos" has not only been renewed for another season but two - "Narco" Season 4 has been confirmed. Showrunner Eric Newman also said that the Cali godfathers, composed of Gilberto (Damian Alcazar), Miguel (Francisco Denis), Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann) and a certain man called "Chepe" will have important roles in "Narcos" Season 3. It's also a possibility that Season 3 and 4 will focus on the evolution of the Cali cartel. Either that or the show executives will decide to tackle on Cali for Season 3 and the Mexican cartels in Season 4 - this remains to be seen.
"Narcos" Season 3 is currently in production and fans will know more updates in the coming months. "Narcos" is expected to return sometime in 2017 with new episodes. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for updates.
