MTV has given the green light for "Scream" Season 3 but details of the horror-slasher television series have been scarce, though rumours are plenty. Initially, fans feared for the show's cancellation because of its low rating with a 45 per cent drop from season 1 to season 2.
MTV's "Scream" Season 3 Has A New Serial Killer?
Fans cannot wait to meet the face of the new serial killer in "Scream" Season 3. In season 2's last episode, viewers heard Kier's lawyer called him in jail and the voice of Brandon James was heard asking Kier if he has the permission to wear his ask mask. That episode gave fans an idea of who might be the killer all along.
However, in the two-hour Halloween Special of "Scream," Kier was convicted and sentenced to jail. Someone wearing the Brandon James mask killed the guard and Kieran dispelling the speculations that Kieran was the serial killer. Who could be the serial killer? Does it mean that MTV's "Scream" Season 3 has more than one character wearing the Brandon James mask?
MTV's "Scream" Season 3 New Show Runners?
Variety reported that not only "Scream" Season 3 will only have three episodes but it also said that previous show runners, Michael Gans and Richard Register, will no longer be working in "Scream" Season 3. The event will be the third change in three seasons. For the first season, it was Jill Blotevogal and Jaime Paglia who ran the show.
Fans of "Scream" Season 3 are wondering if these turnovers of show runners are helping the rating of the show or not. Rumours of cancellation have been rife because of the declining rating, though some fans believe that when Netflix viewership were considered, "Scream's" rating would not be that bad.
