This March 2017 "Bates Motel" Season 5 is confirmed to return to our TV screen. The newest thrilling trailer for the final season of this horror television series seems to just tease viewers that the plot will turn more psycho. Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) lives as the she-devil in the troubled mind of her son, Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore).
"Bates Motel" Spoilers and Season 5 Plot
Despite Norma's death in "Bates Motel" Season 4, there's no need to miss her since this major character is still very much visible (at least in Norman's mind). In fact, her death is planned by the writers from the beginning. According to Hollywood Reporter, Kerry Ehrin, the show-runner of the horror series, said that "Vera will always be the center of the show in any incarnation because the obsession with her has always driven the show."
In "Bates Motel" Season 5, the Norma Bates will be very different though as she is now based on the delusions of Norman's psyche. Norman will have a harder time distinguishing between his delusions and his reality. Norman will not accept his mother's death and it will probably be the final thread to push him to the edge of his violent mental issue.
Norma's voice and appearances (again from Norman's belief) will lead to bizarre events and probably more deaths. Even if this is inspired by the 1959 classic movie, "The Psycho," the twists and revelations of the "Bates Motel" final season are still unpredictable.
"Bates Motel" Guest Casts (More Victims?)
During the San Diego Comic-Con Last July 2016, it was confirmed that Rihanna will play the role of Marion Crane. Crane is the unfortunate character that was played by Janet Leigh in the "Psycho" movie. According to TVLine, given that Rihanna is a fan of "Bates Motel," the producers didn't think twice of offering the role to her.
Another character to look forward to in "Bates Motel" Season 5 is Madeline Loomis, played by Isabelle McNally. If you are a "Psycho" fan, then you will know that Loomis is the surname of Marion's lover, Sam.
Though Madeline did not exist in the movie, it is interesting to note that Isabelle McNally looks like a doppelganger of Vera Farmiga who plays Norma Bates. In the "Psycho" movie, Norman killed Marion because she reminds him of his mother. How Isabelle and Marion will affect Norman's life is still a big question in the upcoming "Bates Motel" Season 5.
So, the plot of the "Bates Motel" Season 5 becomes more interesting. Rihanna doesn't look like much Vera and Isabelle needs some makeup magic to look like Vera. Let's see how these women will make Norman the psycho we expect him to be.
