When the romance historical fiction first hit the screens in 2014, "Outlander" instantly became a television sensation. One of the primary reasons why many "Outlander" fans watch the steamy Starz fantasy series is for the charming Highlander Jamie Fraser portrayed by Sam Heughan. But will the fans be seeing less of shirtless or even the naked Laird Broch Tuarach as his character age up in "Outlander" season 3?
Sam Heughan said that he is looking forward about aging for the upcoming season. According to the lead cast of the series, the young characters of Jamie and Claire are over. Fat Jamie, as he jokingly describes his character, is most likely to be expected on "Outlander" season 3. The 36-year-old Scottish actor said that fans will be seeing Jamie with a bit of "beer belly" in his middle age.
Meanwhile, Claire returns to Jamie's time in Diana Gabaldon's third book as Cinemablend suggests. She finally finds where Jamie has gone and made her way to meet him before they take a sail that will alter and cause a great impact in their lives forever. "Outlander's" time traveler nurse, Claire told Zap2It that she'll play the role of a mother with a teenage child who's gone through this whole life of experience. As anticipated, by the time Claire gets back to Jamie, he will be much older as well.
Fans are to expect a fairly large time jump in "Outlander" season 3 but fans are not to worry as no recasting is going to happen. Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will remain as the main stars only 20 years older.
Starz hit series, "Outlander" season 3 will consist of 13 episodes based upon the third of eight books of Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series, the "Voyager." The official release date is yet to be announced. All we know is that the first two seasons came out in Spring.
