An acapella version of the Dolly Parton song "Jolene" performed by Miley Cyrus, Parton herself, and Pentatonix has been receiving fume reviews from fans of "The Voice US."
The Tuesday night show witness Dolly Parton take center stage next to her god-daughter Cyrus, having previously performed her trademark song together, including at the 25th anniversary of "Dollywood in 2010." The Pentatonix had also cooperated with Dolly Parton on an acapella version of her song "Jolene" last September.
Earlier in the episode Dolly Parton had joined singer-songwriter Jennifer Nettles at the top 10 contestants on The Voice to sing Nettles' song "Circle of Love." Just a day after the "Jolene' performance," Dolly Parton pledged $1,000 a month to families who have been hit by the Tennessee fires.
"To recover, we want to make sure that the Dollywood Foundation provides $1,000 a month to all of those families that have lost their homes in the fires until they get up on their feet. I know it has been a trying time for my people, and this assistance will help," as stated by Dolly Parton.
The legendary country music singer said she had asked her suite of entertainment companies to help set up her "My People Fund," which will provide aid for those left bereaved and homeless by the fires.
"I've always believed charity begins at home and that's why I've asked my companies to help me establish a fun to assist the victims of the Great Smoky Mountain wildfires in Tennessee," as she quoted in her private website.
"We want to provide a hand up to all those families that have lost everything in the fires," as she added in an interview. She pledged to help her hometown from a big tragedy that puts hundreds of families into suffer from a huge wildfire.
