Just when Burgess (Marina Squerciati) gets the promotion she has been dreaming of, her new supervisor will make her new job difficult for her. When “Chicago P.D." Season 4 returns from its winter break, the former patrol officer’s life in the police force will get a little bit more complicated than she’s used to.
When last seen in last season’s finale, Burgess, who has been dreaming of joining the Chicago police department’s elite Intelligence Unit, was finally offered by Voight (Jason Beghe) a position on the team. She happily accepted the offer but will soon discover that when "Chicago P.D." Season 4 returns, her new supervisor will stir drama and complications in her job.
According to Sophia Bush, who plays Erin Lindsay, the good friend of Burgess’, Squerciati’s character will have to start at the bottom of the unit in “Chicago P.D.” Season 4. Burgess will be supervised by someone who will certainly make sure that she learns how to be a part of the Intelligence Unit the right way.
“Chicago P.D.” Season 4 fans have been curious who Burgess’ mentor in the unit will be. There are a lot of speculations that Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) is the most probable of all. Burgess and Ruzek has a long history together and were even engaged at one point. If this happens, fans should expect the drama in Burgess’ life to go several notches higher since the exes will be presented with a good opportunity to reconcile and have another shot in their relationship. But, Lindsay could also be a candidate to be Burgess’ supervisor being the only woman in the unit.
Whoever it is who will be making Burgess’ life miserable in “Chicago P.D.” Season 4, she has to prove that her promotion is well deserved. She will filling in the spot left by Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) who left the Intelligence Unit for the lead investigator job at the District Attorney’s Office in the new show under the Chicago franchise, “Chicago Justice”. Meanwhile, the fourth season of “Chicago P.D.” will return on January 4 on NBC.
