Not so long ago, it has been costly to have a 360-degree video camera that usually costs around $300 but now, it's easier to own a 360-degree camera only at a price of $99, thanks to Insta360.
The Insta360 Air is a spherical device that is designed to capture photo and video recording in 360-degrees. It is built using lightweight materials and can be plugged directly to the user's mobile phones via a micro-USB port. And not just that, the device is also capable of doing live stream or a virtual reality mode.
The portable camera is available in four fashionable colors: matte black, rose pink, white and silver, and rich gold and is priced for only $99 in pre-order or $119 for upon its release to the market, according to Indiegogo.
Insta360 Air's camera captures images in up to 3K resolution and 2K video recording. However, it still depends on your mobile phone camera's resolution and capabilities. The video is software stabilized which does not give a moving effect when live streaming. It has a lens of 210-degree fisheye with f/2.4 max aperture and the shutter speed and ISO are both adjustable. Plus, it can easily be shared on social media or exported in your photo gallery for use with VR headset viewing.
Meanwhile, the Insta360 Air is only offered to Android phones. But iPhone users need not worry as they have the Insta360 Nano. Both products are manufactured by Shenzhen Arashi Vision and almost have the same features except for design and compatibility.
The Nano features an integrated battery so it can work even the device is away with a power source, while the Air is dependent and has to be connected to the smartphone. In addition to this, both the Insta360 Air and Nano can be used with a laptop for a longer period of 360-degree live streaming.
